International Gelshield 200 Anti-Osmosis Primer

The Gelshield 200 from International is an effective epoxy primer that will protect GRP. This primer features fast drying properties which allows for multiple coats to be added in one day, ensuring maximum protection as quick as possible.

This primer is designed specifically for use on GRP/FRP hulls, and provides a matt finish, allowing for easier adhesion of a following topcoat. This primer is extremely easy to apply and can give protection from osmosis in as few as 5 coats (250É¥m).

It is recommended to apply a 5 coats at a minimum of 250 microns DFT (Dry Film Thickness).

How do I prepare a surface for the International Gelshield 200 Primer?

bare GRP

  1. Wash down with International Super Cleaner.
  2. Rinse with fresh water & allow to dry.
  3. Sand with 180 grade abrasive paper.
  4. Remove any dust from the surface.

Previously antifouled surface

  1. Remove using International Interstrip.
  2. Wash down with International Super Cleaner.
  3. Rinse with fresh water & allow to dry.
  4. Sand with 180 grade abrasive paper.
  5. Remove any dust from the surface.

Exposed laminate

  1. Patch using International Gelshield Plus
