Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build 5L - Signal Green | 46410-47320
The Hempel Hempatex 46410 is a physically drying, high-build coating with amazing colour retention and a flat finish. The Hempatex Hi-Build is bassed on acrylic resin and non-chlorinated plasticizer and contains zinc phosphate.
The Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build is resistant to salt water, splashed of aliphatic hydrocarbons, animal & vegtable oils. Recommended as a primer, intermediate or finishing coat in Hempatex systems in moderately corrosive environments.

What do I need to do before I use the Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build 5L?
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable cleaning detergent. Then remove all salts, detergants and other contaminants with a high pressure fresh water wash.
For new builds, abrasive blasting to min. PSa 2.5 (ISO 8501-1) / SP 10 (SSPC). Remove dust, blast media and other loose materials
For existing builds, spot abrasive blasting to min. PSa 2 (ISO 8501-2) / SP 6 (SSPC). Minor areas can be hand or power tool cleaned instead. Remove dust, blast media and other loose materials.
How much can I thin the Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build 5L?
- Airless spray: 5% max (nozzle pressure 175 bar and orifice 0.017" - 0.021")
- Air spray: 15% max

How many coats of Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build 5L should I do?
It is recommended to apply 1 or 2 coats of Hempel Hempatex Hi-Build to achieve 100 micron dry film thickness or 230 micron wet film thickness. If applying via roller or brush, more coats may be required to achieve specified film thickness.
