The Hempel Tiger Xtra Antifouling Paint is a conventional, high performance, erodible antifoul, which provides excellent protection against marine growth all season.

Protect your vessel from marine growth while also making your vessel more aesthetically pleasing with the luxurious black colour. The Tiger Xtra range by Hempel has a high mechanical strength for excellent crack resistance and is suitable for dry-stack or continuous immersion.

What do I need to do before I use the Hempel Tiger Xtra Antifouling Paint?

Remove salts, detergents, contaminants and marine growth with high pressure fresh water cleaning.

New build - Uncoated surface

Prime the prepared surface with Hempel's Light Primer and apply a tiecoat of Hempel's Underwater Primer whilst the surface is still tacky.

New build - Coated surface

Prime the perpared surface with Hempel's Premium Primer and then apply one coat of Hempel's Pro Tiecoat.

Existing build

Remove the loose matter and contaminants by high pressure fresh water washing, if needed abrade and remove dust. If the previous antifouling is in bad condition, then seal with one coat of Hempel's Underwater Primer or Hempel's Pro Tiecoat.

How many coats of Hempel Tiger Xtra Antifoul should I do?

It is recommended to apply 2 coats of the Hempel Tiger Xtra at 40 microns dry film thickness each. Apply an additional coat around the waterline and other high wear areas.
