Repaint your deck with the International Interdeck Non-Slip Deck Paint which provides an excellent slip resistant finish to ensure maximum safety while also giving the deck a splash of colour to match your aesthetic. This paint was designed with safety in mind, so for an added touch International ensured the paint had a low sheen, semi-gloss finish to help prevent dazzling sunlight being reflected off the deck.

Interdeck is a tough polyurethane low sheen deck coating containing a fine mineral aggregate providing a hard wearing, slip resistant surface. It is easy to apply, by brush or roller, on all substrates. Follow the preparation instructions before use for best results.

How do I prepare a surface for the International Interdeck Paint?

Previously Painted (good condition)

  1. Wash down with International Super Cleaner.
  2. Rinse with fresh water & allow to dry.
  3. Abrade with 180-320 grade abrasive paper.
  4. Remove all dust.

Previously Painted (poor condition)

  1. Remove all previous coatings.
  2. Prime the substrate.

Bare Wood

  1. Sand smooth with 80-180 grade abrasive paper.
  2. Sand again with 280 grade abrasive paper.
  3. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping.
  4. If wiping with solvent, allow to dry completely.

Steel

  1. Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner.
  2. Grit blast to Sa 2½ - near white metal surface.
  3. If grit blasting is not possible, grind the surface with 24-36 grit abrasive discs.
  4. Clean thoroughly & allow to dry.
  5. Prime using a suitable International Primer.

Aluminium

  1. Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner.
  2. Sand using 24-120 grade abrasive paper that is suitable for aluminium.
  3. Coarser grades are recommended to achieve optimum adhesion.
  4. Clean thoroughly & allow to dry.
  5. Pre-prime using a suitable International Primer within 8 hours.

GRP

  1. Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner.
  2. Sand using 60-120 grade abrasive paper.
  3. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
  4. Prime using a suitable International Primer.

How many coats of International Interdeck Paint should I do?

It is recommended to apply 1 to 2 coats of the International Interdeck Paint at a dry film thickness (DFT) of 50 microns per coat or a wet film thickness (WFT) of 93 microns per coat.
