The Ocean Signal safeSEA S100 Radar SART (Search and Rescue Transponder) is a vital piece of maritime safety equipment, designed to improve detection and support rapid response in emergency situations. Using advanced radar transponder technology, it ensures your vessel or survival craft is highly visible to nearby ships—even in poor weather or low visibility.

The safeSEA S100 is specifically engineered to assist in the rescue and recovery of liferafts and survival craft. Once activated, it remains in standby mode until triggered by an incoming X-band radar signal from a nearby vessel. It then transmits a sequence of pulses, which appear on the vessel’s radar display as a line of dots, clearly indicating the direction and location of the survivor.

Carriage Requirements:

• Mandatory for SOLAS vessels on international voyages
• 1 unit required for vessels between 300–500 GRT
• 2 units required for vessels over 500 GRT
• 1 SART per 4 liferafts on Ro-Ro passenger vessels
• Required on many commercial vessels, workboats, and fishing vessels
• Commonly required on super and mega yachts under MCA Code of Practice
• Recommended for voluntary-fit vessels to enhance safety
