Introducing the New Proflush
The original formula will now be called Proflush Professional, reserved for businesses with a registered account and the appropriate photo ID and available in 5 litres.
The new Proflush formula has a lower acid content (and so is below the legal threshold of acid content that can be sold to the general public) but still delivers excellent descaling results and is available in 2.5 litres. During testing, dilution ratios of 3:1 for standard applications and 2:1 for heavily scaled engines provided outstanding results. Now, after thorough testing, we’re ready to bring it to boat owners everywhere.
Marine engines face a tough environment. Saltwater, minerals, and calcium constantly flow through their cooling systems, leaving behind scale that can reduce efficiency, increase wear, and even cause overheating. Regular descaling is essential to keep your engine performing at its best — and Proflush makes it easier than ever.
Why Marine Engines Need Descaling
Seawater is a great coolant, but it leaves a residue. Over time, salt, calcium, and mineral deposits accumulate in heat exchangers, pipework, and cooling passages. This scale reduces water flow and cooling efficiency, leading to:
- Higher engine temperatures
- Reduced engine performance
- Increased wear on critical components
- Risk of overheating and costly repairs
By descaling regularly, you can restore cooling efficiency, improve engine performance, extend engine life, and prevent expensive breakdowns.
Benefits of Using Proflush
- Restores cooling efficiency
- Improves engine performance
- Protects your engine from premature wear
- Simple and safe for regular use by boat owners
How to Use Proflush
Using Proflush is straightforward
- Set up a circulation system through the engine coolant waterway using your engine descaling equipment or a submersible pump with the correct attachments.
- Add Proflush to your water reservoir and circulate the solution through the system.
- Watch for effervescence (fizzing) — this shows the product is actively breaking down scale. If it’s still fizzing, it’s still working.
- Let it run for a couple of hours. Usually, one dose is enough to clear out scale buildup.
- Finish with a flush of fresh, cold water to remove any remaining residues and leave your cooling system clean.
